Hello Team + Parents,
We took a big step this weekend and earned a second place finish at Lancer and some well-deserved hardware! I am very proud of the effort, especially on an unfamiliar and winding course. I was impressed with how many of the guys were able to use each other to improve their position on the course. Our finishes were much stronger as well. Joe and Zach once again passed the most people on the last mile of the race, way to finish strong fellas! We had other solid performances from Robbie (4th), Jacob (11th), Hayden (12th), Nate (21st), Michael (24th), and Zach (33rd) and many others. That being said, we have some areas to work on, most notably starting smart and surging on corners and hills.
You can find another brief recap HERE.

Next week practice will be at 4PM each day after school at WSH. Coach Alpers will be leading practice on Monday and Wednesday as I will be attending two mandatory after school meetings then (trust me I'd rather be with the team running!). Saturday, practice will be at 9AM at the Dog Park, excluding freshman (though they are welcome to come if they'd like to). Our next upcoming meet will be 9/20 at Alpena for our first BNC Meet. More info to come.
Our areas of focus for the next 10 days will be on:
Best,
Coach Kay
PS If you have yet to order the grey team t-shirt please refer to Kim's previous email. Thanks!
