Hello All,
First off, sorry it has been so long since I have last sent out an update! My wife and I call the months of January and February the "Dark Ages" because school and the weather is such a grind for us! I was able to squeeze in a few Wednesday visits to see those that were running after school. I was very pleased to see many young guys out there running together and even joining the girls team. Keep it up! I wish I could be at the HS more often in the winter months, but it is tough to get there early enough to see the guys.
Now that the weather is clearing and parent teacher conferences are finishing up I do have a little more time to dedicate to a life after the school day.
I wanted to let you all know if you have yet to get outside and run, please check the workout schedule posted in the boy's locker room across from the AD office. The plans have been there since December, but you can just snag the last page or two if you are just getting back in to running.
I also wanted to update you all about track. There is a track meeting on March 1st after school with Head Coach Brown. Practice will start, I believe, on March 13th. I will be leading the long distance runners on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Due to my busy spring schedule at school I will be unable to travel for meets during the week and on trips outside of the TC area.
With that being said, I also will be unable to coach during the first week of track practice. I am apart of the Administrative Intern Program at TCAPS this year and was given the opportunity to help streamline our Chinese Exchange Program. With this opportunity, I was also given the chance to visit China to learn more about the recruiting process. This is an opportunity I could not pass up and I will actually be in China from March 8th-17th.
Unfortunately, this means I will miss the first week of track practice. I will ensure that plans are in place for the long distance runners and Tom or another coach will assist the boys in acclimating to the first week of training.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. My number is 734.645.3026 or email me back.
Best,
Bryan Kay
